Project brief

Create a modern look for www.digidaydaily, the authority on digital media, marketing and advertising.

Background

Digiday is a media company and community for professionals who work in the digital media, marketing and advertising industry. Their mission is to connect the industry with insightful analysis and perspective, as well as each other. They provide key insights and information through their online publications and conferences that cover the changes, trends -- and why they matter. The focus is on *quality*, not quantity, and *honesty* instead of spin.  They cover the industry with an expertise, depth and tone readers won't find anywhere else. The entire team at Digiday is driven to produce the highest quality publications, conferences, events, and resources for the industry.

The Digiday website is their content hub featuring commentary and analysis from leading minds in the digital content business. They cover the top stories in online publishing and marketing, with a focus on content monetization, interactive ad campaigns, mobile and social media. Their content resides in five key categories that their readers navigate through: Social, Data, Mobile, Local, Video and Publishing.

To sum it up, it is where digital content, commerce and innovation collide.

They also support their website with three email newsletters: Digiday: Daily, Digiday: Mobile, and Digiday: Data.

In September, they will broaden their coverage to Asia, along with an email newsletter dedicated to developments in the region.

Their conferences include: Digiday: On Media, Digiday: On Video, Digiday: Target, Digiday: Apps, Digiday: Local, Digiday: Mobile, The Data Management Summit. Their awards programs are The Sammy Awards (social), Mobis (mobile), Diva (video) and DPAC (publishing).

Project definition

Main Objective

Design site page templates that is modern, clean, open and easy to navigate.

Key Insight

The best industry professionals don't get their digital opinion from the New York Times. They need to be ahead of the curve and know about things way before it becomes mass. For technology, they go to places like Mashable and TechCrunch. For everything else they go to Digiday.

Measures of Success

Access to content is easy and seamless, makes their readers feel like there is plenty on the page and wanting more.

Audience specifics

They are publishing, technology, agency and brand executives, and they come to Digiday Daily to gain actionable insights into the big issues affecting content creation, monetization and marketing.

Inspiration

New Yorker – clean and crisp, use of imagery alongside text
brandchannel – authoritative but accessible
Method – visual way of doing news
Good – good use of top and side navigation (for sections and subsections)

Really excited to have the opportunity to be involved in this project. Are the folks at Digiday open to exploring logo and color scheme variations?

    Hello everyone,
I'm back from my vacation but as Cassandra has been supporting you that well, we'll have her guide you for the remaining days as well.
Just wanted to give you a little reminder to please rate each other ideas - it's important feedback for everyone, motivates to improve ideas or hints towards finding another approach, and in the end it's crucial for making this co-creation process work. So please - don't be shy, rate ;) !
